Grandma & Didas treasures :)

Tolie found my sisters old toy cat in Grandma & Didas basement last week. He was showing me how he cuddles with the kitty "Marbles" and gives her a nice pat on the head :) Abby's just laying around chewing on her car keys :) also found in grandma & didas basement...good thing my mom and dad held onto our old toys as they are getting use all over again!!!

Gone Swimmin'

Today was Abbys first time going swimming. Isn't she so darn cute in her bathing suit...awww :) She loved the water! As you can see Tolie is getting impatient with me taking pictures when all he wants to do is get into the pool, he is getting so good in the water. He used to be terrified of the pool but tonight he was even going off the steps into the shallow end all by himself. Thats a big deal for him! Why are there no pictures of me you ask? Well, first off, I am taking the pictures, and secondly who really wants to see the post-partum belly among other things...haha...

Stupid Milk...

This is my fridge after Tolie slammed the door and the milk exploded all.over.the.fridge...the pic doesnt quite do it justice, it was in all my food, shelves, drawers, under drawers, leaking on the floor...ugh it sucked, and to boot my house had just been cleaned by my lovely house cleaner :)...and I had to rewash my floors cause Tolie and his friends ran through the milk and made tiny little milk footprints on my nice, clean floors...gah...but now I have the cleanest fridge in town :)

Happy Birthday Great Grandma Judy!

Tolie and Abby wanted to wish their Great Grandma a very Happy Birthday! The first pic is Abby with Great Gram at Christmas this year and the second is when Tolie went with mommy & daddy last year to visit them in Florida. He loves his Great Gram so much and talks about her all the time, he really misses her while she is in Florida for the winter!

Tolie requested I make him a smiley face for lunch - so voila, not very exciting but he was thrilled :)

Crabby Abby...

Ok, so she isnt really crabby, but thats my dads nickname for her (I think just cause it rhymes!) She is a little under the weather. Poor baby  has croup...she has been coughing and coughing and cant sleep - which means neither can mommy. Today seems to be a little better and I am hoping she is on the mend. Here she is with her standard "mom why is that camera in your face (and mine) again?" and her cute little baby legs!!!

A boy & his truck!

What I should have done is take a picture of his big blow up fire house that he LOVES to play in...instead I get a little too obsessed with my kids and cut everything else out of the picture...I guess I have to learn to take pics of the kids AND background...haha. Anyways he got a blow up fire house for Christmas and it is about 6 feet high and 8 feet wide...currently is it taking up most of the playroom in the daycare (downstairs) I keep thinking he will grow tired of it and I can put it away for a while until it can live outside once the weather warms up (not happening so far!) and if he doesnt ask for it one of the daycare kids does!

King of the Castle

Heres his heighness "The Dukester" or "Duke" hanging out on his new cat tree. We adopted him from a shelter at the beginning of December and he is just a little hyper (ok a lot hyper) so Eric thought that maybe he was bored and needed some added stimulation - hence the giant cat tree sitting in my living room. So far he likes it, hopefully it keeps up and he can stop using my couch as his scratching post!

5 months!

So, I took pics today, and then deleted them (by accident of course...) so I am going to post pics of Tolie & Abby around the same age (5 months) Do you think they look alike? I think they look totally different, but it might just be because I am their mommy :)

Abby jumping in her jolly jumper...she has just discovered how it works and wants to be jumping all.the.time :) Uncle Jon and Aunty Nadine popped by after dinner and somehow Jon got roped into putting together Tolie's new bookcase - and as you can see Abby is not so sure what she thinks of Jon at the moment...she usually realy likes seeing Unlce Jon but was extra grumpy tonight for some reason :( Maybe she is going to be getting some teeth?

Tolie had lots of fun playing with his Aunty Nadines phone today. He spent most of his time pretending to call Uncle Jon (they are his godparents) Notice the fancy pull-ups, that would be because he is in toilet training mode...remind me why we want to toilet train small children again? haha...

Abbys New Ears!

Today we picked up Abbys new hearing aids, it was a bittersweet day as we are so happy that she will be able to hear all the wonderful sounds the world has to offer but at the same time you never want to see anything wrong with your baby. So far she seems to not even know they are there, except they keep falling out - so we are back to the audiologist on Friday for help...hopefully they have some good ideas for us :) She's just so darn cute with her little hearing aids and her new hat from Grandma!

Abby & her Giraffe

Since Abby has been able to pick things up and put them in her mouth (which hasn't been too long) Sofie the Giraffe is always - in - her - mouth...a foot, head or multiple feet, she loves to chew on it! Some people think we've given our infant a sqeaky dog toy, but its really for babies...its the "hit" thing for teething apparantly!

Tolie is loving this new project cause mom is always snapping pics...here he is lounging on his couch doing his perfect "cheese" smile...notice the closed eyes (for those that know me well, my eyes are almost always closed in pictures...he must be taking after him mom!)

Daddy wanted to try his hand at picture taking...did a pretty good job, got his two fav girls in the shot...Tolie was napping so he missed this photo op...although I'm not sure he would be too upset about that :)

Baby in a basket!

The daycare kids and Tolie dumped all the toys out of our buckets, so we decided to put Abby in one of them. Turns out they are the perfect size for sitting in :) She sat in her little bucket for quite a while cooing and gooing at the toys and the kids.  Oh and did you notice her shirt, it says "I Love Mommy" It was Tolies when he was a baby, and its so true, they really do love their mommy. I've been out and about today and will be for the rest of the weekend as the Canadian Figure Skating Championships are in London and we have an "all events" pass...so the kids are hanging out with daddy and their Grandma & Dida a lot this weekend...and even though I am only going to be gone a few hours each day I will be missing them terribly (Im just not used to being away, at all!)

Shhhh...

First time falling asleep in her highchair...she was helping me make lunch (well sorta...) and then I turned around and she was zonked with her new blankie and her trusty thumb in her mouth :) I just cant get enough pics of my kiddos, they are just too cute for words!

Every single time we go to Grandma & Didas, Tolie has "dibs" for dessert. Dida (Grandpa) gets them out of the freezer for him after dinner and counts them out into a bowl...then Tolie sits at the kitchen table and enjoys his snack!

My cousin Amanda was in town for work so we got to spend some time together the last couple weeks (which was really awesome!!!) I am standing in her wedding in Nov 2010 which is going to be really exciting. Here I am with Amanda and Tolie and Abby (who are clearly sick of sitting to take picutes) and I'm not wearing makeup so I look a little scary...but hey... :)

One day I will post a pic of something other than my kids...

Since I had my camera out, Tolie asked if I could take a picture of him. He thinks standing as close to the lens as possible and saying "cheese" is how you take a picture...Regardless it is pretty cute...minus the mess on his face from his favorite snack of all time - goldfish, raisins, and chocolate chips in a bowl. He asks for it EVERY SINGLE day (sometimes twice)...but it could be worse, right?

Today Tolie discoverd he could fit through the cat door to the basement...needless to say this is where he played all evening - in & out of the cat door. Who knew it was so easy to entertain a 2 year old??? haha...

On the ice...a boy after my own heart!

Mommy and Tolie at the ice rink at Storybook Gardens. This is his 2nd time skating...the first time I brought my camera but forgot the memory card. I was an avid figure skater for a syncronized skating team as a teenager, so I am thrilled that my little man is on the ice and learning to skate!!! Yeah Tolie!!!

Rock 'N Roll

While watching cartoons or "tarcoons" as Tolie calls them, they were playing in a rock band. Tolie asked if he could put on daddy's guitar. He then proceded to try and copy the guys on TV and play the guitar...too cute :)

Finding my toes...

Abby just found her toes today...yes they are very exciting, now only if she could figure out how to get them in her mouth she'd be all set! Its so much fun to watch them learn new things everyday, yet sad to see how fast they grow up and become independant - like my big guy Tolie...we have embarked on potty training and hes already telling me to "close the door mom" aww...

Cloth Diapering 101

This is my life, washing, changing, folding, and repeat...I decided to use cloth diapers with Abby, and although I am saving $ and doing my part to help save the environment, I realize why they invented disposables...they are convenient, but I am enjoying the cloth route and they are awfully cute on her little bum :)

Abby is just learning to grab her toys and play with them...she thinks this little tag is very interesting, notice her cross eyed look? haha...shes too cute!

Heres the Tolie - meister just hanging out...his new favorite activity is pretending to "lock" all the doors. He's even figured out how to lock the bathroom doors from the inside, close them, and then unlock them from the outside...not so fun when you go to the bathroom and realize you cant actually get into the bathroom until you locate a butter knife and turn the little thing on the outside of the door to get in :)

Working hard, or hardly workin'?

This is my ever hard-working hubby Eric. If  hes not chasing around our toddler or hanging out with me, you will find him on his computer...usually studying or finishing up some work. His dedication to his work and his family is amazing. He's a great guy :)

Splish Splash, Tolie's in the bath!

Here's my big guy (well he seems big in comparison to his lil' sis)...it has taken quite a lot of picture taking but we can finally convince him that he should smile or at least look at the camera! He was "hiding" in the bath and popping up and I managed to catch a quick picture before he went back to "hiding" He is a goofy guy just like his picture :)

Meet "Duke," he is the King of this house (or so he thinks) We don't get along very well as he thinks he is the boss, and well I'm pretty sure I am :) He is a new member of the family, only have been with us for a month. He is a playful, happy, and sometimes well behaved cat. He lets the kids chase him and pull his tail and doesn't even get mad at them. I'm sure I will grow to love him when he stops climbing my screens and eating my dinner...

Im just learning how to use this new fancy camera I received for Christmas, but it sure helps that my kids are cute :) I'm not biased or anything though! Look how sweet and innocent my little Abby looks when she's asleep, now only if I could convince her to do that at night!
