Abbys 6 month photos!

Heres my attempt at doing my own photoshoot of  Abby (and had to get Tolie in there as well!) I am trying to develop my photography skills and thought it would be a good idea to do Abbys 6 month pictures myself :) I think I did an ok job, it helps that she is so darn cute. My mom made her little tutu for the pics.

Busy Day! Happy 6 months Abby!

Today I didn't get any pictures (oops my bad!) but we had a very busy day. Abby had her CT scan this am and had to be sedated for it, so she had to fast overnight (she did so good!) I thought she would be livid by 8:30am since she usually eats ALOT in the night - but she was great. I think it was harder for me to see her put to sleep for her CT than it was for her, she was in and out in 15 minutes. We also had a visit from some family in Winnipeg so we were off to the airport in the afternoon to pick up our guests! It was a busy day, but a good day. Here's an oldie of Abby (only a couple days old) and her big bro!

Abby was 'helping' me paint today - well actually she was being too cute and I was taking pictures instead of painting!

I'm off for a couple days this week so I decided to paint the main level of our house (with the awesome help of my mom of course!). It was getting really beat up and looked really old so it was time for a face lift! This is step 1 - edging and my least favorite part of painting. Will post pics when we are done - its gonna look awesome!

Hearing Aid Bonnet

Abby got something in the mail today - her hearing aid bonnet. Its made for kids who have hearing aids so that while they are learning to wear their aids, they cant pull at them and they dont fall out all the time. So far its been wonderful. She has not pulled her aids out once nor have they fallen out! Yeah! Isnt she so darn cute too???

A rare moment...

You dont usually see this very often - Tolie & Duke getting along...usually Duke is sitting in Tolie's way or playing with his dinky cars (cause they roll and the cat can chase them) Tolie was petting Duke and saying "I love you Dukie" haha so cute. Notice the chocolate face - he was eating his favorite snack - goldfish and chocolate chips. Mind you there is like 15 goldfish to about 5 chocolate chips but he gets excited every time!

Putting in the bathroom floor

Tolie & dad were working on putting in the bathroom floor tiles today - finally! Tolie likes to help with anything and everything, Im not sure if its help or anti help but he likes it none the less. You'll notice he's not wearing any pants - this is all due to potty training, he runs around all day with his undies and no pants, I guess its just easier that way!

I didn't take a pic today but this is a pic from the same day two years ago :) Does that count? My husband took a picture of our son everyday for the first year of his life and then did a slideshow at his 1st bday to show how much he had grown. I can't believe looking back now how quickly time went :( Makes me a little sad that my little boy is getting so big!

The Knights Game

Tonight was Tolie's first Knights Game! He LOVED it! He talked about it non-stop on the way home, and we were thinking he would fall asleep (seeing as it was after 10pm). He was so thrilled that he cant wait to wake up from his sleep and play hockey (thats what he told us) We bought him a little soft hockey puck and mini stick and he is sleeping with them tonight because "i just love them mommy" haha so cute!

A Little Plastic Bug

Its amazing to me the things that entertain kids :) Tolie found this little plastic bug today and wanted me to take pictures of him with his 'bug'  This is what we came up with!

Family Day!

Abby & Tolie - so its not the best picture but Tolie is not overly interested in Abby and tends to avoid her for the most part, so the fact that he is standing for a picture is pretty amazing in itself...he is in the middle of eating a jellybean, hence the funny look on his face :)

We had to have this one for the memory books!

Tolie is in the midst of potty training, so of course we had to have the 'humiliating for when you're older' picture! He had to wear his new tshirt Grandma bought him and his sunglasses all day, even on the potty! Happy Valentines Day Everyone! We had some good friends over for dinner and dessert and I got to show off my flowers my hubby bought for me (thats a big deal, he thinks Valentines Day is 'just a marketing scam')

New Shades!

We were at the mall and Tolie decided he wanted some new sunglasses and since they were 2 for $8 we picked out a pair for Abby too...here's hoping the sun comes out so they can test out their new shades, although Tolie has been wearing his regardless, he wanted to wear them to bed (that didnt happen though!)

See these cute, little pink hearing aids?  These are Abby's...she finally got her own pair, she was wearing "loaner" aids until some insurance kicked in...heres the kicker...these little pieces of battery operated plastic cost over $3000 dollars and NO it is not covered under OHIP, shocking eh? So, we are very very careful they dont go missing...cause she wont be getting a new pair for about 5 years!

Okay so my posts the last few days have been less than exciting, but we've been a little crazy around here. Abby has been sick with a virus that caused a nasty rash and a trip to the ER...turns out it was just a crazy rash that no one really knew what it was. More appts for Abbys hearing aids and support workers, but everything has been a postive learning experience so far :)

Late in the afternoon I decided we needed snacks, so we made up some banana bread and double chocolate chunk muffins (yum!) Tolie is starting to really like helping in the kitchen, especially if he gets to 'pour' or 'mix' anything.

After dinner tonight we noticed Abby had a rash on her at arms, hands and tops of her feet :( She doesn't seem to be bothered by it, but it looks like it would be annoying. We are watching her closely to make sure it doesn't spread or get any worse...poor baby

A New Puppy!

But NO its not mine :) My BFF just got her new puppy today, her name is Mia. We went over tonight to meet the cute little pup. She is a chocolate lab and oh so cute. In the last pic she is sleeping with her sister Zoe (who is going to live with my BFFs brother) She is so so cute, but I am happy I dont have to house train or obedience train her and I just get to go over and play with her. Tolie was excited to see the puppy but was content to look at her on the other side of the baby gate they had set up. Im sure in time he will grow to love her :)

Bath Time!

Ok, so my kids might not be especially thrilled when they are older that I was taking pics of them bathing together, but right now they are young and cute so its ok :) A rare moment of Tolie playing with Abby...he tends to find her a little boring right now since all she does is take up mommys time. Soon though, he will be able to chase her around like all his other friends!

Today Abby tried veggies for the first time, some homeade squash, yum! Do you see the look of terror on her face in the first picture? She's like "what are you going to do to me mom?" She wasn't overly impressed with the whole sqaush idea, but managed to have a few bites...then she started crying so that was it for tonight!
